Two gorgeous layouts with our Scraps of Darkness kits

Hello my friends!  I was super excited to start to use the July Scraps of Darkness "Wayfarer" Main Kit along with the Elements Add On Kit for my new layout titled "Now".  I recently got some amazing pictures of my beautiful second nephew Otto, and I could not wait to use this awesome kit for these pictures.

Here are the previews of the Wayfarer Kit and Elements Add On Kit:

The little bit of red in the background of my picture was perfect for the tiny bits of red in the 49 and Market Dragonfly Revolution Layered Embellishments from the Elements Add On Kit.

The beautiful green paper from the Blue Fern Studios' Wonderlust Collection along with the Chipboard went along really well with my Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst colors "My Mojito Green" and "Ponderosa Pines Olive" that I used in the background.  To add depth to my background, I used one of the Hot Off The Press Compass Stamps with my StazOn black ink pad.

Part of the subtle layers in my background was using Liquitex Matte Gel Medium with the Prima Traveler's Journal Ephemera from the main kit.

I also used one of the Prima Ephemera Stickers for my title on top of the picture.

Finally, I have to point out these 49 and Market Flowers from the main kit... The elegant and vintage pop of yellow completely pulled the project together to my surprise.  This is the exact reason I first subscribed to the Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance monthly kits.  I never in a thousand years would have realized this amazing color scheme of the flowers with the papers and other embellishments without having this kit put together for me.  I don't think I could have come up with a better color scheme than this on my own.

Anyhow, that's about it!  Thanks for taking a look and have a fabulous day!

Hello!
Tatiana here with you today and I have a chance to return to the beautiful April Scraps of Darkness kit 'Blue Skies & Sunshine'.

My layout is about my daughter's love to the different insects and similar creatures. As for me I don't like much caterpillars, bugs, worms and etc., but try to keep a straight face when my daughter look and learn them, because I like her brave, interest and curiosity. We have some wonderful books about insects and use time spent at our summer cottage to find and learn more about them. Couple of weeks ago grandmother presented a scoop-net to my daughter and it helps her a lot in her learning process. I should say that no insect was affected during the study (I especially pay attention to this).

As a base of my layout I used BoBunny paper from the Main kit and adhered on it piece of Kaisercraft specialty paper. On the bottom of it I adhered sticker from the Kaisercraft sticker sheet. I fussy cut flowers and butterflies from the Kaisercraft patterned paper and created two layered composition.

Blue Fern Studios chipboard was covered with Ingvild Bolme ink included in the Main kit.

Glass glitter from the Main kit, sequins and micro beads helped me to add a little bit of shine to my project.

I also drew some insects on the background using Faber-Castell black pen.

Good luck!

  1. Beautiful pages! I loved the soft colors of the first page, and the second page that big circle around the photo was awesome!
