Sweet and lovely Family layouts - July Country Chic Kit

It's Tracy Funk here today with my first project with the beautiful Scraps of Elegance July Kit, Country Chic featuring 49 and Market Cottage Life paper.

Tom and May

I used the Main Kit, Floral Add-on, Elements Add-on and Coordinating Paper Add-on.

Coordinating Paper Add-on

I started with the Garland paper from the Coordinating Paper Add-on.  I did some stamping that didn't turn out the way I had planned so I gessoed over it and inked it slightly with some pink chalk-ink.  I then die-cut two large circles out of the Garden Seeds paper (from the Coordinating paper add-on) and Branching Out paper (from the Main Kit), layered them over black cardstock copies and glued them onto the background.  I also used the Garden Seeds paper to die-cut some leaves.
I primed the chipboard fence (from the Main Kit) with clear gesso and then applied DecoArt white crackle paint.  I also inked around the edges slightly with charcoal grey.  The center of the fence would have been hidden under the photo anyway, so I cut it out to save for another layout and glued the end pieces to the page.

I cut a mat for the photo out of the gingham paper included in the Main Kit and then glued it to a sheet of plain chipboard for stability.  I used foam tape under this to balance the photo.
The corner flourishes and buttons were from my stash.  Most of the flowers, with the exception of a couple of 49 and Market flowers from my stash, were from the Floral Add-on.
The clothespins were from the Main Kit and the butterfly from the Elements Add-on.

Here is my second layout.....

"That Would Be Nice"

When my son, Evan, was little, he used to say "That would be nice" a lot.  The expression on his face in this picture makes me imagine him saying that, hence the name of this layout.
This is my second layout this month using the beautiful Scraps of Elegance July kit, "Country Chic", featuring 49 and Market Cottage Life paper.  I used the Main KitPatterned Paper Add-onCoordinating Paper Add-onElements Add-on and Floral Add-on.

I started with the beautiful Provence paper from the Main Kit and did some stenciling with molding paste on the background.  I went over the stenciled areas with some watercolour to make them stand out more.

I used another sheet of the Provence paper from the Patterned Paper Add-on to make some of the die-cuts.  The Bicycle Ally paper and Garland paper from the Coordinating Paper Add-on were used to make the other die-cuts.  I layered each die-cut over a black cardstock copy, offsetting them slightly to accentuate the edges.

The two small chipboard flourishes were from my stash.  I embossed these with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Pop Rock Purple embossing powder included in the Main Kit.

All the other embellishments were in the Main Kit or Add-ons.  I sprayed the green roses from the Main Kit with some Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist to dull the colour slightly and brushed the tips of the petals with white paint.

Thank you so much for taking a look today!
