Pretty in Pink - Sparkle and Shine kit

Hello My Friends!

Did I mention that I have a niece Dani Ulstad who has her own photography studio??  She has been busy taking some amazing pictures of the family, and this one is of her sister Bre.  When I saw this picture I knew it was perfect for the Scraps of Darkness "Sparkle and Shine" August kit.  

I used 2 different Rose Quartz collection papers for the background.  Before I glued down the top half I layered several of the sheets of ephemera papers that come in the Elements Add On to go under the photo.  I also layered some die cut doilies  using the tan cardstock.  I added a brown mat to the photo and tried to create  a circle of twine around the photo.  

I used a beautiful chipboard from my stash to swirl down the middle of the photo, and topped it with those amazing roses from Prima that come in the Main Kit.  

As you can see I went wild with pearls and micro beads all around the clusters.  I love how they look!

At the bottom right I created a little cluster of flowers that I fussy cut from the Rose Quartz paper I used at the top.  I tucked in some flowers lace and one of my dear friends Renea Harrison of Renea Bouquets butterflies that she designed for a previous kit.  

I loved tucking this gorgeous piece of lace that I have been hoarding for a long time!

Gorgeous mixed media Fall Layout - September Falling Leaves Kit

Hello friends, Lisa here to share another layout with the 

Scraps of Elegance kit 'Falling Leaves'.

'Thankful'

This kit is chock full with the beautiful 'Amber Moon' collection by Prima. It has it all; the papers, the stickers, the flowers, and the decorative tapes. I always start with a coat of clear gesso so my mediums don't seep into the paper, and then I added some watercolors and stamping. From there I layered on the papers, leaves and flowers under my photo and title.

Too cute to spook Halloween layout - September Falling Leaves Kit

Hi, I'm back today with another layout using the gorgeous Scraps of Elegance September Kit, "Falling Leaves".

I used the Main Kit, Coordinating Paper Add-on, Elements Add-on, and Floral Add-on.

I started with the beautiful "Fall Postcards" paper from Prima's Amber Moon collection available in the Main Kit .  I then made some die-cuts using the "Into the Woods" paper (also in the Main Kit) and the "Pumpkin Season" paper (in the Coordinating Paper Add-on).  As usual I layered the die-cuts over a dark cardstock version and offset them slightly to accentuate the edges.  I also applied some brown chalk ink around the edges of the die-cuts and the background paper.

The seed stems were made with the microbeads included in the Main Kit.  I used the wired stems off some old flowers from my stash, coated the ends with Beacon's 3-in-1 glue and poured the microbeads overtop.  To make the thicker ones, I wrapped some floral tape around the end of the wire before coating it with the glue and microbeads.   I stuck the bottom of the wires into a sheet of styrofoam until the glue dried.  I then lightly coated them with some fluid matte medium to help keep the microbeads from falling off.

The chipboard piece was from my stash.  I painted it orange and then inked over it with some darker orange and brown inks to give the colour some dimension. The coconut buttons were also from my stash.  All the flowers and other embellishments (Amber Stones, ephemera)  were from the Floral Add-on and Elements Add-on.

An adorable fall layout - September Falling Leaves Kit

Hi, it's Tracy Funk here today with my first project using the gorgeous September Scraps of Elegance Kit, "Falling Leaves".

"Pumpkins"

I used the Main Kit,  Coordinating Paper Add-on,  Chipboard Add-on, Floral Add-on and the Elements Add-on.

I started with the beautiful "Pumpkin Season" paper from Prima's Amber Moon collection, included in the Coordinating Paper Add-on as the background.

I cut a strip of paper from the "Into the Woods" paper (Main Kit) and punched the edges with a stitch pattern punch, layering this over a strip of black cardstock to make the pattern more noticeable. I then glued this onto the background and applied the orange polka dot washi tape from the Elements Add-on along the sides.  I added some more washi tape strips on the right side of the layout,

horizontally.

I also used a floral edge punch with the "Into the Woods" paper to make decorative strips for the left, upper and lower edges of the layout and for some die-cuts.  More die-cuts were made with the "Autumn Sunset" paper from the Main Kit.  I used some green paper from my stash for the leaves.

I painted the chipboard pumpkins and applied a brown wash overtop to grunge them up a bit and give them some dimension.  I also added a bit of orange embossing powder to the pumpkins.

The buttons and small orange roses were from my stash.  The rest of the flowers were from the Floral Add-on.

To finish, I added a couple of stickers from the Main Kit, a butterfly from the ephemera in the Elements Add-on and brushed a bit of white paint on the edges of a few of the flowers to add some more dimension.

Happy Family Layouts - August Sparkle and Shine kit

Good morning!  Laura here!

I am back today to share  a sweet layout I did of an 'ussie' of our youngest and I taken at Canada's Wonderland while we were waiting  for my hubby and oldest son to get off one of those crazy rides....
I created this using the 'Sparkle and Shine' kit

The awesome Prima papers were perfect for layering!!!

I created a cluster with flowers from the main kit and floral add on and a chipboard flourish that I had in my stash!

I used three of Prima tapes to frame the photo!  The tapes are so cool!

I created the title using the stickers!  Perfect title!

Now to share my final layout using the awesome Sparkle and Shine kit! 

For this one I used the fabulous 'Beautiful' line from Simple Stories.

I used the flowers from the main kit and the floral add to frame the photo.  I also built a matting for the photo from pieces of the wonderful paper

I used the Simple Stories Beautiful Bits & Pieces diecuts from the main kit to create my title
