Mixed Media Gift Bag - Video Tutorial

Lizzy used items from our November Scraps of Darkness "Serenade" kit, Color add on, and Creativity add on to create this, but if you don't have the kit, no worries - you can just modify with the items you have on hand!

Mixed Media Album Cover Tutorial

One of my favorite things to post are new tutorials from Lizzy, and today is one of those days I get to post one!

She has done a beautiful album cover with our October SOD Creativity add on and kit (Bon Appétit!), here is a close up, to give you an idea of what's to come in the tutorial...

Lizzy's Artist Trading Block Tutorial

Kit reveal info and... A NEW TUTORIAL!

First, just a quick note about our September Scraps of Elegance kit:  it will reveal on Wednesday, September 3rd instead of the normal reveal date which would have been today, so be sure to stop back on Wednesday to see our gorgeous new kit!

And on to the good stuff.  Lizzy Wurmann has been working on an absolutely wonderful new project, and she has a great tutorial to show you how she made it!  Lizzy used our August Scraps of Darkness Weathered and Worn kit, Color Add On, and Creativity add on to create this gorgeous and fun work of art:

Art Journal Page Step-By-Step by Lizzy

Lizzy's done a fabulous art journal page with our July "Believe" kit, and she also did a step-by step tutorial to show you how:

This is the Gelli print I used as a base for my journal page

I used the stencil that came in the kit to add some white paint

I doodled with a white pen

A little doodling with a black pen 

I cut two hearts from the papers included in the kit and painted the doilly with Golden Sleigh Bells (from my stash), then added some doodles 

The lettering was made with the alphabet and rubons from the kit. I added the key hole, also included.

Finally I added gears here and there, to compliment the metal accents on the hearts

How to make foam stamps/art journal page tutorial

Lizzy has done it again!  She is such an amazing artist, and not only has she created a gorgeous art journal page, she's done a wonderful video tutorial showing you not only how she made the page, but how she makes her own foam stamps.  I can tell you I have never made my own stamps, but after seeing her tutorial, I am certainly going to start!

DIY Photo Book Tutorial - His & Hers Kit

Good morning!  Yes, it is Monday again, but we have something to brighten this Monday for you!

Lizzy has done a wonderful video tutorial, showing you how to create a photo book yourself.  She is using our April "His & Hers" kit, but you can easily use any papers and embellishments you like to create yours.

New Design Team Members!

We've got some exciting news to share today, we have a couple new additions to our Design Team!

You may or may not know that Debbie Sherman designs for our Scraps of Elegance kits, well we are thrilled that she will also be designing with our Scraps of Darkness Kits!

I'm Debbie and I live in Wyoming with my husband Jeff and our 2 Labs Mojo and Pearl. I'm also a grandmother of 7, who inspire me everyday, they are the reason I started scrapping!

I have been involved with one craft of another all my life.  I started out beading jewelry when I was about 7 and sewing when I was 12. One day I discovered scrap booking and then it became an obsession/passion!  My husband thinks I'm a hoarder now but I say I'm just well supplied. My style varies and over the years has changed.  One day I can be in a Shabby Chic mood and the next day  I find myself elbow deep in paint and art journals.  I'm a visual person and when I see a product I love I create around it.  I draw inspiration from many places, flea markets, family, grandkids, old and vintage and color.
I'm an avid photographer and have been blessed with many professional photo opportunities. I spend time with my camera daily. More photos = more scrapping!!
I'm beyond honored to be designing for Scraps of Darkness and with all the wonderfully talented designers you know.

Lizzy Wurmann will be joining our team as an Educator!  Lizzy's innovative and colorful work has long been an inspiration for me and so many others, and we're so excited that is joining us!

My name is Lizzy and I'm from Santiago, Chile.
I'm a mom of three kids. Daniela (30), Valentina (26) and Felipe (20).

I've been scrapbooking since 2005. I started  as a digital scrapbooker and then I joined many DT's (Doris Castle, Lawanna Dejardin, Michelle Shevland among others).
I got published in Somerset Memories, Somerset Digital Studio, Digital Scrapbooking (CK Media)...

In 2007 I started with traditional scrapbooking and now a days, I'm trying different techniques and styles and I'm in love with art journal and mixed media. I could say I have a free style,  sometimes quirky or abstract. I LOVE color, it inspires me to create.

Meet our August Guest Designer!

I'm so excited to let you in on who will be Guest Designing for us in August, her work is gorgeous, innovative, and she is so creative!

Lizzy Wurman G.

Hi,

My name is Lizzy Wurmann G. and I'm from Chile. I started with digital  scrapbooking about 7 years ago and as I was improving my skills in Photoshop, I began to work with many well known designers  and then I got  published in Somerset memories, Somerset Digital Studio, Digital Scrapbooking (CK Media) and some other magazines.

In 2007, I started with traditional scrapbooking looking for "my" style but I realized that there were many styles I loved. In 2011, I felt I lost my mojo so 2012 started again but this time, mixed media is my goal. 

One of my big passions is color, I feel happy with them, so using bright colors combining different images in a sort of collage is my new style.  I also love to try new techniques and textures so now a days, I feel free to try anything I like.

In 2013, my older daughter is getting married so I'll have to give a try to a more conventional look of my pages.
