2 Inspiring Layouts + 2 Beautiful Cards

Hello Everyone, Kathy here!!!  Hope you had a wonderful week.  I worked pretty hard this week at my "real" job.  Not much time for scrapping lately.  However, I did finish up this sweet layout using the wonderful Scraps of Darkness February kit "Our Story".  I chose this week to feature my sweet grandson Cameron asleep on his Daddy's chest.  I just love these sweet, quiet moments, which with this little guy are very few LOL!

 The kit is intermingled with the gorgeous Blue Fern Studies (BFS) "Memoires"  and Prima "Love Clippings" collections.  I chose the BFS paper for the background and inked and stamped it using the Bella Clear Stamp (Main Kit) and added a little gesso splatters.  I matted my photo with various papers from both collections and tucked in some journaling notecards included in the Main Kit.  I also fussy cut the little embellishment that runs down the vertical strip on the left side of the photo that comes in the Prima notecards (Main Kit).

I had the adorable heart chipboard from my stash that I painted with the Art Alchemy acrylic paint "Metallique Royal Red" that came in a previous kit.  It gives a really nice shine.  Perfect for the chipboard!!

On the left side of the photo at the bottom I created a sweet flower cluster which has a little bird image that I fussy cut from one of the BFS papers "Calling Cards" in the center.  I used the Puccini flowers from Prima "Vintage Emporium" collection which are included in the Floral Add On.  I also added some Finnebair Art Stones around the cluster and in other areas of the layout that came in a previous kit.

On the top right side I added a fussy cut butterfly from a VERY old Scraps of Elegance kit, and tucked in a little flower from a previous kit.

The little title was fussy cut from one of the Prima 6x6 "Love Clippings" paper pad that comes in the Creativity Add On.  I used another phrase at the top of the photo from the same paper.

3 gorgeous mixed media projects: layouts and tags

Hello!

Today I'd like to share my first project featuring February Scraps of Darkness kit 'Our Story'. 

This photo was taken several years ago in the poppy field. It was beautiful evening in the end of spring. I want to save this moment and created a layout with color palette similar to the photo.

For the background I used Blue Fern Studios paper from the main kit. This thick paper is ideal for mixed media experiments, but I previously covered it with thin layer of clear medium also (as I do with thinner paper). After medium dried I made background stamping using stamp from the kit. Layering behind the photo was created from journaling notecards and leftovers from the previous kits (Prima chipboard and stickers).

Then I added colors using Magcals (brown from the February kit) and Glitter brush pens from the previous kits. Then all was dried I applied stencil with permanent marker, added BoBunny rub-ons and a little bit of stamping again.

My next layer was created using glitter, beads, micro beads, flakes, sequins, liquid pearls (from the previous kits), rhinestones and pearls. Chipboard heart was covered with one layer of paint, then I added glitter.

On the last step I added splashes to my project.

Here is my second layout featuring February Scraps of Darkness kit 'Our Story'.

I created layout about one beautiful day in our summer cottage. Girls were drawing and chatting. When I'm looking at this photo my heart is full of peace and happiness, that's why I decided to use soft colors for my project.

I cut cage with two birds from one of the papers included in the Main kit. Butterflies were cut from the journaling card. Layers behind the photo were created using paper from the kit, journaling cards and Prima chipboard from one of the previous kit.

Chipboard were colored by Distress marker. Also I added to my background foil rub-ons and washi tape from a previous Scraps of Darkness kit.

On the final step as always I added rhinestones, pearls and splashes.
