It's Friday, and we want to inspire your weekend paper-crafting! We've got 2 gorgeous mixed media layouts to share...
The first is by Lisa Griffith, and she created it with our Jan. Scraps of Elegance kit, Be Mine:
Lisa's design on this stunning love themed layout is just amazing! Here's what she had to say about her layout, and a few close -up photos:
This layout is dedicated to my husband, my 'rock' and my best friend. Here's to all the unsung heroes of our lives, the ones that wake up at 4:30 every morning, drive insane miles, work stressful jobs, and still come home with a smile and wanting hugs. We've been through good times and bad, and he's still the one I want share my life with. I'm so grateful to this guy, he's given me a fantastic life in this amazing country I love so much and a sweet boy that is my sun, moon and stars. I call him my 'rock' and he calls me the 'glue'.... (so romantic right? lol)... he says without me he and the boy would fall apart ;)
The February kit is filled with such beautiful and romantic goodies that I'm sure you'll be inspired to create something celebrating the love of your life...

The title chipboard was so large that it just worked better for me to use it
in building my layers under my photo, but I love the sentiment.
I had started splashing around some pink ink on my background when all
of a sudden I realized it had started to look like a heart...how perfect :)
I used just about everything from the main kit, the papers, the tiny glittery hearts,
the pink pearly drops, the ephemera pack, the gold clips, and the red twine.
And this next gorgeous layout was created by Dana, who was working with our Feb. Scraps of Darkness kit, Our Story:
I don't know about you, but I always love a good cat layout! Here's what Dana says about this beauty:
I'm sharing another layout that I created with the February Our Story Kit from Scraps of Darkness,
featuring the Prima Love Clippings collection. I snapped this photo of
my Sister-In-Law's cat while I was home visiting over Christmas. I used
the Prima Love Clippings All of Me Loves All of You patterned paper,
B-Side up, for the base of this page.
I love the distressed look of this patterned paper. I added more layers of color and texture in a similar fashion by using a spatula with the Dina Wakley Media Blushing Heavy Body Acrylic Paint from the Creativity Add-On, the Lindy's Stamp Gang Cocoa Bean Copper Starburst Mist from the Color Add-On, the Lindy's Stamp Gang Milk Chocolate Magical Shimmer Powder from the Main Kit, and the Blue Fern Studios Charred Bricks Glitter from the Elements Add-On that I mixed with clear crackle glaze to help stick. Once that was dry I stamped over the background with the Ruby Rock-It Bella! Champagne Bubbles stamp from the Main Kit and the Prima Chocolat Dye Ink from the Color Add-On.
The B-Side of the Deeply In Love patterned paper has wonderful journaling cards to cut apart. I used two of them on this page at the top and bottom of my page as an alternative to stamping. These cards were really fun to embellish! I colored the chipboard heart from the Blue Fern Studios XOXO Laser Cut Chipboard set with the Blue Fern Studios Garnet Embossing Powder from the Creativity Add-On.
I colored the Kaisercraft Chipboard Alphabet letters from the Main Kit with the Dina Wakley Media Blushing Heavy Body Acrylic Paint from the Creativity Add-On. Once that was dry I mixed the Lindy's Stamp Gang Milk Chocolate Magical Shimmer Powder from the Main Kit with water and dripped the solution onto the letters for a cool water-stained shimmery finish.
I colored the Blue Fern Studios XOXO chipboard with the Prima Chocolat Dye Ink from the Color Add-On. I tucked the chipboard between layers of patterned paper that I cut from the Journaling Notecards (Main Kit) and the 6x6 Love Clippings Collection Kit from the Creativity Add-On. These smaller paper pads really helped me stretch the life of my kit.
That's it for today, but if you stop back tomorrow, we'll have another gorgeous page to share, along with a tutorial for it!
