Mixed Media Monday - 2.20.17

Good morning!
Today on our Mixed Media Monday post we are celebrating little ones.....weather they be itty bitty and new like in Sandi's gorgeous layout or a little bit older like in mine!

I wanted to created a mixed media layout using the awesome Graphic 45 paper I got in my Scraps Of Darkness Botanique kit!

When I opened the kit, I fell in love with this background paper!

First I used the adhesive rub ons and the foil, then I did some paper layering strips, I added some stenciling using texture paste.

I used some of the Blue Fern Studios Chili Embossing Powder from the color add on and heat set it.  My next step I used the Brusho Crystal Colour in lime green, turquoise, and burnt sienna all available at the Scraps Of Darkness Store here

I tucked in the chipboard that I covered in the embossing powder.

I also altered some white flowers & leaves from previous kits with the the Brusho powders and tucked in one of the metal gears from the kit.  I also added some crushed glitter glad from previous kits and the Nuvo drops also from the kit

This months challenge over at Graphic 45 is to use one of your favorite quotes.....this is one of mine.  I used a Dymo and then inked the strips so they were not so white.

Now Sandi is celebrating a new little one with the
Scraps Of Elegance 'Be Mine' kit

She used the ScrapBerry's Fairytale paper as her base along with torn strips from Blue Fern Studios Heartland Bicycle for Two (both sides.) For photo layers she used the Heartland Love Notes paper as well as the Kaisercraft ephemera pack. My florals are a mix of Main Kit Heartland Roses and Blooms along with Prima and Petaloo flowers from the Floral add-on. The Heartland bloom was tinted peach so that it would co-ordinate better with the peach tones found in the papers.

She had an opportunity to use the silver hearts from the Main Kit. She misted and gessoed the twine to make it less red and added some art stones and a flower from her stash.

Before starting her layout, she used Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a stencil to add some dimension and character to the background paper. Her Blue Fern Studios chipboard which was embossed with Ble Fern Studios Sage (stash) and Blue Fern Studios Cotton Candy embossing powder from the Color Add-on. She also dabbed it with gesso to blend the entire page. The large peach bloom was originally pink but altered to match these particular papers.

In the lower left corner, she wanted to add some balance, so layered a subtitle or two from Kaisercraft along with some of the Blue Fern Studios Bicycle for Two. More flowers from the Floral add-on!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
