Kathy Mosher here, and so excited to show you my latest layout using the Scraps of Darkness April Kit. This layout was so much fun to create using this month's kit, just love the happy yellow and blue, and so perfect for a little boy. My little guy Chase is featured this week with his kitty Jack. I absolutely love this picture of him, and couldn't wait to scrap it.
I used 3 different papers from the Coordinating Paper Add On, Main Kit and Cardstock Add On for the background. I stamped, painted, and stenciled the background. It got a little messy for me, but I think it turned out okay.
I ripped some paper to use as a base for my photo and embellishments from the Indigo Skies' collection. Then I gessoed the chain heart chipboard (from my stash).
What makes this kit so easy to use are the die cuts included in the Elements Add On from Kaisercraft. I used the tag with an added sentiment on the bottom left, with a sweet butterfly on top of it.
I got a new foliage die cut, so I cut it in white cardstock and started creating the flower cluster. The white flowers are in the Main Kit and I think fit perfectly with the layout. I added a little flair with the phrase, "Owl always love you". Cute huh!!
At the top right side of the photos I used a die cut from the Elements Add On with a sweet phrase. I also used another flair and flowers from the Main Kit.
At the bottom right corner I painted the circle with negative heart with the Art Alchemy acrylic paint "Magical Pond" which you can get in the Color Add On. I added foliage from the die cut set in the Elements Add On, flower from the Main Kit, and a sweet little flower which I fussy cut from the Penny Lane paper in the Coordinating Paper Add On.
The title is from my stash and I painted it with the Art Alchemy paint, and added the Prima "Blue Jay" Chalk Ink to give it some depth.
Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you liked my layout and description of how I made it. Don't forget to check back daily for more inspiration from our awesomely talented Design Team.
Have a wonderful week and till next time!
