Shabby Chic Mixed Media Tags: A Tutorial

Good morning, we have a wonderful new video tutorial to share with you today, by Stéphanie Papin.

Stéphanie created these gorgeous contrasting black and white tags, accented in teal blues, with the May Scraps of Elegance kit, Belle Journée, as well as the Creativity and Color Add Ons from May.

I'll share her video (which is amazing!) first, and then a few words from Stéphanie and more photos.

Here's what she said about these stunning tags:

"It's a mixed media work based on the use of the black & white gesso, included in the Creativity add-on. The Gesso are the base of the work, and I use the colors in the kit to add color on the gesso. For both tags, i used the same colors; the result is different depending if the base is white gesso or black gesso. It is interesting to see how colors react according to the choice of gesso.
Most of the products i used here are included in these May kits and it was also interesting to work with  these Finnabair Brushes.  It's very easy to create texture with this tool, you get an interesting texture on the papers: the depth is much greater than with the use of a stencil with the modeling paste. I enjoy working with that brush!

My favorite products this month are this Prima Finnabair texture brushes set and the WOW embossing powder ('Atlantic Seaspray') : this powder is magical, because there are different tones, there isn't a uniform color, this embossing powder is different than the others that I've used before, it was a beautiful discovery!
I hope you enjoy the result and the video, thank you in advance for watching!"

And here are close-ups on these tags, you can see the amazing detail...

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for more great weekend creating inspiration, and have a beautiful weekend!
