Mixed Media Monday: Beachy Tags and ATC's

It's July, the perfect time of the year for all things beachy, and we've got two wonderful beach themed projects to share with you today.

The first is a set of 5 beautiful ocean themed Artist Trading Cards, created by Monica Lowrance with items from our store.
Here's what Monica says about these beauties:

I wanted to use these ATC's that I made for the Scraps of Darkness Store for a personal ATC swap.
I've seen so many beautiful beach themed items out there. It was easy to be inspired.
Here are some close ups. Basically I started with the background. I used a Prima stencil and some modeling paste. I used Wow Embossing Powder: Atlantic Seaspray and various inks and sprays to give it that beach feel. I sped up dry time by using my heat gun and then used some Gel Medium to adhere the cheese cloth. I rolled my Blue Fern paper and then adhered my little beach related pictures.

I used cheesecloth under each of the images.

I used a Prima stencil on the background. The Scraps of Darkness online store carries a wide variety of Prima products. And I used some various Stickles  and inks from my stash.

I rolled some Blue Fern Serendipity collection Contemplation papers. The Scraps of Darkness Online Store has lots of Blue Fern products as well.

I used some Prima bloom spray and other mists to get the various colors.

These items you can find in the Scraps of Darkness Online Store:

Blue Fern Serendiptiy collection Contemplation paper

Faber Castell Gel Medium

Dritz Cheesecloth

Currently sold out:  Wow Embossing Powder : Atlantic Seaspray (However, we have this Wow Embossing Powder: Opaque Pastel Blue - I think this would work wonderfully).

And next we have two gorgeous tags by Denisa Gryczova:

Denisa was working with our July Scraps of Darkness kit, An Ocean Tale, as well as the July Elements Add On.  Here's what she says about her tags:

Welcome sea lovers. Today stepping out of my comfort zone with these two oversized sea themed tags.  I used the fabulous An Ocean Tale Kit by Scraps of Darkness.
You can subscribe to kits here.

Full of texture and all shades of teal. Gorgeous colours for any sea projects. From the Main Kit I was playing with Art-|C |Metallic Teal Heavy Body Acrylic paint, Assorted Seashells, Falk Teal Tulle. From the Element Add Ons I used Blue Fern Studios Chipboard Seaside Seashells, Craft Consortium Always & Forever Self-Adhesive Pearls and Finnabair´s Rusty Gears Mechanicals.

Some close ups:

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope we've inspired you to break out your supplies and create some summer goodness for yourself!
