Two gorgeous layouts - August Sparkle and Shine Kit

Hi everyone!

Sharon here to share my newest layout made with the August, 2017  Scraps of Darkness "Sparkle and Shine" kit.

This kit features Prima's "Rose Quartz" and Simple Stories "Beautiful" collections.

What a fabulous kit!  When I first received it, I thought, wow . . . there are so many possibilities!  I am happy that I ordered all of the add-ons,  because I do not want to run out of coordinating supplies.

Without further ado, here's my layout:

I just LOVE the Simple Stories "Shine Bright" paper, and used it as my background.  Since a black and white photo seemed best here, I used one of my favorites that I took of my husband and daughter last year.  I added some interest to the background with "True Gold" paint, "Hickory Smoke" spray stain, and some white gesso splatters - both the paint and the spray stain are included in the color add-on.  The black feather, which I pulled apart and adhered to the back of my distressed and matted photo, and the music paper came in the elements add-on.  In addition, I had some fern chipboard pieces left over from last month's kit.  I painted them gold (with the True Gold paint) and viola, they were the perfect addition to this page.  And the gray Prima flowers were included in the main kit.

I have found that the monthly kits and add-ons go quickly!  If you don't want to miss out on anything, you can subscribe to the monthly scrapbook kit club.

WOW!  This kit is full of amazing paper and embellishments that make your layouts really shine!

I enjoyed making this page using a photo that I just took while on vacation this summer:

I took the photo while walking on the Atlantic City boardwalk one evening.  The Bruce Springsteen song "Born to Run" came to mind when I printed it out.

Here's my page:

This time I used the "Grateful Heart" paper from Prima's Rose Quartz Collection as my background.

I was drawn to this pink and white color scheme.

This page was so quick and easy to make using the main kit:
