Good morning!
It's a fabulous day here a little on the cool side but the sun is shining and the sky is blue!
Today I am going to share a couple of layouts that just 'dis'stress me! (lol)
First up is this extraordinary layout by Tracey Gregory using the Scraps Of Darkness
'Laura's Wish' kit.
May is Cystic Fibrosis awareness month!
Tracey's sweet niece,Vivien, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as a newborn., she is now 4. Today was the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's fundraiser, Great Strides, where families come together, donate funds to CF research and walk. Her team, Viver's Givers was one of the top fundraisers-since their first walk 5 years ago, we have raised over $50,000 toward a cure. Congrats Tracey and team!
She used the
official colors of the CFF (hence the Tye-dye colors) , she created this
layout of Vivi and her brother, who
will wear a beast costume at home dancing or at Disney.
The add-on
kit has this cool circle stencil, which she colored with gelato after
using texture paste. The butterflies were punched out of the patina
patterned paper. she loved the large die cut circle and chose to position
it on the side so she could bring in the smaller photos.
Next up is Renea with this magnificent layout using the Scraps Of Darkness
'Laura's Wish' kit
She used some of that wonderfully, rustic wood grain paper from the kit for the base layer.
She then took some corrugated board and tore it so get some of the backing as edge then sprayed it with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain In Rusy Hinge, hitting it randomly with some of the Lindy's Magical Powder from the main kit, then over spraying it with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain In Tarnished Brass.
She used another piece of
kit paper that she tore, inked and then hit randomly with some more of
the Lindy's Magical Powder and then oversprayed it with the Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain In Tarnished Brass, she then added another piece of the corrugated board, and popped the photo
on and topped it with some stash metal buckles and TH gears from a
past kit.
Here you can see where she
fussy cut some of the large clocks from the papers, added metal
gears and tucked them into the tears.
She used the twine from the kit to wrap the edges and pin them down with a metal brad.
The quote was cut from from the pieces in the kit and she distressed and stained it, then added it on with foam tape for dimension.
The flowers were from the April Floral Add On, and the gears were stash pieces.
We are starting something new - each week we are going to post a scrapbooking/mixed media/ card making tip!
This weeks tip comes from the uber talented
Wilma Voermans
When
you use glossy accents , store it upside down during the crafting. In a
empty food container or a cup. This way you dont have to wait untill it
runs to the tip every time.
