More from 'Laura's Wish'

Good morning everyone!

Today I am going to share a few more layouts from our super talented design team!

First up is amazing Sindi using the Scraps Of Darkness kit 'Laura's Wish'

She used an entire page of the rub ons for this layout. She liked the way they were all in a rectangle and thought she could build a good background piece for her page if she just left them in their original state and used the whole thing.

After she had added the rub-ons to the page, she used some India Ink to give the page some splotches. She spritzed it with water and dabbed with a towel after that. She also used the patterned paper to make these folded strips with chevron shapes on top.

Next up is more visits from Michelle this time to Wonderland also using the
Scraps Of Darkness 'Laura's wish' kit

I absolutely LOVE the mix of elements and textures - flowers, chipboard, gears, metal, pearls - all work to create these awesome creations!

Thanks for stopping by!

More than layouts....

Today I thought I would share a few OTP projects that our talented Design Teams have made!

First up is this gorgeous canvas from Stéphanie  using the Scraps Of Elegance 'Lynne's Garden Terrace' kit.

Stéphanie does not often make canvases but really enjoyed doing this one because she loves mixed media techniques.

Here are a few close ups....

I just love that fairy!

Next up is Renea with a fabulous memory box using the Scraps Of Darkness kit 'Laura's wish'

She started with a paper mache book box that shw coated with Gesso, and then added layers of distressed and Tim Holtz Weathered Wood Inked (from the Color Add on)  kit papers.

Next, she added in some of the Ephemera pieces from the kit,  then came the photo.  She rolled some of the kit papers and tied them together with burlap string and added them in with the ephemera pieces.
and she then added some clocks that she had fussy cut out from the kit papers, adding a Prima Sea Resin Starfish piece and some Prima Metal Clock Hands (from the Elements Add On) to the one at the bottom photo corner.

The bricks were cut from the Prima packaging housing some of the kit embellishments that she painted with white sand texture paste. The flowers were from this month's floral add on, the seashells were some real ones from her stash, and the Tiny Treasures Patina Butterflies.

For the "binding " side she layered on Tissue Tape and some lace. Inking over the tissue tape to get depth of color.

She created "pages" using a Ranger Texture Paste, technique and inking. The book ties closed with hand dyed seam binding ribbon.

On the inside she inked the gesso painting, added on strips of tissue tape and then layered some of the kit Ephemera into the bottom and Mod Podged over it, then gesso and Crackle Painted over them to give them a faded, time worn look.

For the back she heavily distressed and inked kit paper with the "Learn from yesterday, Live for today, Hope for tomorrow " quote on it that she used on the front of the box.

Our final projects comes from Anna using the Scraps Of Elegance 'Lynne's Garden Terrace' kit

A couple of gorgeous tags with many luscious layers!

Thanks for stopping by!

So 'Dis' stressed & Tuesday Tip!

Good morning!
It's a fabulous day here a little on the cool side but the sun is shining and the sky is blue!

Today I am going to share a couple of layouts that just 'dis'stress me! (lol)

First up is this extraordinary layout by Tracey Gregory using the Scraps Of Darkness
'Laura's Wish' kit.

May is Cystic Fibrosis awareness month!
Tracey's sweet niece,Vivien, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as a newborn., she is now 4.  Today was the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's fundraiser, Great Strides, where families come together, donate funds to CF research and walk. Her team, Viver's Givers was one of the top fundraisers-since their first walk 5 years ago, we have raised over $50,000 toward a cure.  Congrats Tracey and team!

She used the official colors of the CFF (hence the Tye-dye colors) , she created this layout of Vivi and her brother, who will wear a beast costume at home dancing or at Disney.

The add-on kit has this cool circle stencil, which she colored with gelato after using texture paste. The butterflies were punched out of the patina patterned paper. she loved the large die cut circle and chose to position it on the side so she could bring in the smaller photos.

Next up is Renea with this magnificent layout using the Scraps Of Darkness
'Laura's Wish' kit

She used some of that wonderfully, rustic wood grain paper from the kit for the base layer.

She then took some corrugated board and tore it so get some of the backing as edge then sprayed it with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain In Rusy Hinge, hitting it randomly with some of the Lindy's Magical Powder from the main kit, then over spraying it with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain In Tarnished Brass.

She used another piece of kit paper that she tore, inked and then hit randomly with  some more of the Lindy's Magical Powder and then oversprayed it with the Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain In Tarnished Brass, she then added another piece of the corrugated board, and popped the photo on and topped it with some stash metal buckles and TH gears from a past kit.

Here you can see where she fussy cut some of the large clocks from the papers, added metal gears and tucked them into the tears.

She used the twine from the kit to wrap the edges and pin them down with a metal brad.

The quote was cut from from the pieces in the kit and she distressed and stained it,  then added it on with foam tape for dimension.

The flowers were from the April Floral Add On, and the gears were stash pieces.

We are starting something new - each week we are going to post a scrapbooking/mixed media/ card making tip!

This weeks tip comes from the uber talented
Wilma Voermans

When you use glossy accents , store it upside down during the crafting. In a empty food container or a cup. This way you dont have to wait untill it runs to the tip every time.
