First, I'd like to thank everyone who sent good thoughts, prayers, or donations to help little Annabell.
Before I get to the good news, a little background. When Kelsie first picked Annabell up from the shelter, she had wounds on the side of her head. The people at the shelter thought she had been attacked by some kind of animal, but there was no way of knowing for sure what had happened.
And now the good news, after months of various medicines not working, Annabel had the exploratory surgery she needed on Tuesday morning. The vet found she had no eardrum, and a bad infection. Apparently whatever happened to her included her losing the eardrum. The vet was able to prescribe the correct medication to kill the infection, and said once the infection is gone, her eardrum will grow back. She has been on the medication for two days now, and Kelsie tells me she is already acting like a normal kitten.
And so again, a huge heartfelt thank you from me, Kelsie, and Annabell...
