OTP's and more!

Good Tuesday morning!

Today I want to share a few projects I know will get your creative juices flowing!

First up I want to show you a beautiful shabby chic pocket journal that Renea created using the Scraps Of Elegance 'Mallika's Whimsy kit'

such a pretty creation!

she added a layer of frayed and inked canvas, some paper doilies and then more distressed and inked kit paper, and a fussy cut the sweet bird image out of some more of the kit paper

And here is the system with all the tuck ins pulled out so that you can see them!
Next up is Lynne with a super adorable bird house!
She punched scalloped strips for the roof pieces and fussy-cut the birds and butterflies. A little inking, stenciling and die-cut leaves
and finally today I am going to bring you a stunning Folder Pocket Mini Album from
Lisa N.
She thought she would do another file Folder Pocket Mini Album only a little different this time. This one is filled to the brim with an Accordion Fold Mini Album, Seven Photo Mat Tags and a Little Journal Tag with a Special Deer Dangling!

The outside of the file folder pocket was created with a mix of Kaisercraft Botanica "Seed" and "Botanica"  She used the gorgeous Blue Fern Chipboard "Seasonal Wildflowers" and embellished with Petaloo Florals - "Botanica Minis Purple" and "Botanica Pistachio". All these goodies are found in the kit and the add ons.

The Blue Fern Seasonal Wildflowers were painted in Silks "Pretty Peridot" for the green leafy areas. The florals were painted in Shimmerz Dazzelerz Grapetastic then embossed Stampendous Encrusted Jewels.

This beautiful metal dragonfly was in our Creativity Add On and it's by Vintaj. She treated it with Ranger Patinas also found in the kit

This is the Accordion Fold Mini Album. She used the Simple Stories "Summer Vibes" as the base and then enhanced with Kaisercraft "Habitat"

A little close up on the album... She used a Prima "Coy Adele" floral from the kit and the BoBunny "Heritage" Misc. Me Journal Cards and Buttons...

These tags are beautifully embellished with the little quotes found in the Botanica collection and some Prima Wood Flowers. These were treated with mix of Viva Rusty Patina, Shimmerz Dazzelerz and Liquid Pearls in Garnet. She also embossed them again with the Encrusted Jewels.

The background card on this one is another BoBunny Journal Card from the Misc. Me collection. This cute little deer was included in our kit. It's a Blue Fern "Forest Friend"..... she coated it in gesso and then embossed it with Lindys in "Twilight Bronze Slate" and Ranger "Antiquities - California Stucco"

She die cut some more quotes from the Botanica collection and backed them in a lighter print. These can be used as photos mats or journal tags.

Today we've got a wonderful tutorial to share with you.

Tracey Sabella created this stunning Wedding layout as a gift for one of her friends that was recently married.  She used our Mallika's Whimsy kit and add ons to create it, and did a great video tutorial.  I just love Tracey's tutorials, she really gives you detailed step by step instructions, so even if you are a beginner, you will learn how to create beautiful projects like she does.

Earthy / Nature Layouts

This months Scraps Of Darkness kit
'Kathy's Nature Walk' has a real earthy feel to it!
Filled with greens and browns, and lots of wonderful elements that celebrate Nature!

I want to share a few layouts that really celebrate that nature feel!

First up is Michelle and this truly amazing layout!

I LOVE the movement of the page and the peek a boo.  She did an awesome job with the inking and cascading of the elements

Here is another beautiful layout from her

That fawn is just adorable and seems tucked away in a little glen made out of elements and flowers from the kit and add ons!

Next up is Kathy with this lovely layout....

Kathy took her cat camping with her!!!!

She put a layer of gel medium down on the background paper so that it would work better with the paints.  She used modeling paste and a stencil from a previous kit to make the 'garden' of flowers.  She sprayed the background with Shimmerz "Punked Up Purple" (from our May SOE kit), added water to make it mottled and toned down.  Then  went back and hand painted another layer of the same mist over each one of the flowers.

she mixed gesso with water to make the splatters!

She cut apart one of the papers, inked and layered.  She added some flowers and highlighted some die cuts with Faber Castell's "Texture Gems" from last month's Creativity Add On.
