Renea's Shabby chic delight!

Good morning everyone!

you have to see this gorgeous mini album Renea made using the
Scraps Of Darkness 'Weathered and Worn' kit!

Renea was inspired by this months mood board!

She started with layers of distressed papers and then added trims from the kit

The center dimensional piece is actually a plastic phone case that She upcycled by finger painting it then layered in burlap and cheesecloth, and some Prima Resin pieces. The ruler was cut from the papers and pleated, then added flowers from the kit.

Now here are the details and inside pages......

The Second Page is actually one of the Melissa Frances bags from the kit that she turned into a page pocket that houses a Tim Holtz Curio card that you can slide a photo into.

2 Stunning Mixed Media layouts by Lisa

Good morning, the work week is half over!  And to inspire you for your weekend crafting time, we've got two incredibly gorgeous layouts by Lisa Novogrodski. She created both with our August Scraps of Darkness "Weathered and Worn" kit...

Here's the first, along with details from Lisa. Isn't it just breathtaking?! This was Lisa's example for our September Inspiration Board Challenge:

I used the Fabscraps and Teresa Collins papers on this page. I used the lace paper in the embellishment add on and tore that up tucking in the edges so just the lacy flowers stand out. I've stamped over them... well I stamped over everything! Lot's of stamping, a little masking, misting, drips...oh my!
My new thing is to decorate my photo. Why not? Who says the photo has to be matted and untouched right? Mist it, mask it, stamp on it. Play...play...play!

\
I used some Shimmerz textures and Lindys mist on the bird. (Included in the color add on) I broke my chipboard up and used the bird on one side of my page and the rest of the beautiful Blue Ferns Studio chippee on the other side.
I can't tell you how much I love this layout!

And the next is equally gorgeous!

My first page features the Fabscraps Industrial Chic paper for the background with bits of Teresa Collins Life Emporium and Marion Smith Garment District.
The little envelope flap is a Tim Holtz die that I cut in half and punched a hole an eyelet. I've added some washi tape torn up and sprinkled here and there.

I've learned to blend my love of punching with a more mixed media style. I don't punch my whole page anymore but find ways to tuck in punched strips to allow for a pretty touch to soften the more grungy edges.
I love collage style. I've explored shabby chic "pretty" and still enjoy that for sure but I really love a little bit more grungy, artsy, still pretty but edgy.
Above all I love to layer... and layer...and layer...

Lisa really knocked it out of the park this month!

I want to thank you for stopping by, we always appreciate that you took time out of your day to see what we are up to!

Gorgeous projects by Patricia!

Good morning, I'm happy to report that I survived Monday, and since you are here, I guess you did, too!

Today, I'm sharing not one, not two, but SIX gorgeous projects by Patricia Basson, all created with our August Raindrops on Roses kit!

The first (and my favorite, I think, though I'm not sure...) is a double art journal page spread:

Patricia used the Creativity Add On  to create this AMAZING project.

Here's a close-up, showing the Tall Flowers stamp by Magenta, which was included in the add on:

And another, showing the beautiful shine on her circles. She used the Faber Castell Glaze that was included in the add on to get that look:

I just love everything about these pages, the colors, the design, her technique work, it all just works wonderfully!

Patricia's next project is a stunning mixed media layout...  Just look at all the detail and texture on this beauty!

Patricia's next layout is of an adorable family member, Coco:

I don't know if it's just me, but I get a real "oriental" feel from this layout, and I love it!  Her background work is perfect with all the fussy cut and dimensional flowers.

Her next project is such a pretty card...

She used the Authentique Classique: Pretty papers from the kit, and I do believe I see some of those gorgeous Blue Fern chipboard bricks from the kit, as well!

The next layout that Patricia did was for our August Inspiration Board Challenge, and what a lovely example it was!

Such pretty pastel colors, and beautiful background work!

And we're ending this with a bang!  Check out this stunning double art journal page spread!  Again, done with the Creativity Add On for this kit:

Just out of this world!  It takes me to the Fourth of July, if fireworks were only done in cotton candy colors!

I hope you've enjoyed Patricia's work with the August kit, I know I sure did!

Mixed Media with Michelle!

Good morning, and happy Monday!  (is Monday really ever a great day, unless it's a holiday? lol)

Well, today is a great one for me, because I'm sharing not one, but TWO gorgeous projects from Michelle!

The first is this AMAZING work of Steampunk art!  Michelle used the Creativity Add On from our Weathered and Worn Kit to create this.  Just look at all the technique work and details on this gorgeous altered pallet!  I just love the mixture of rustic, grunge, and industrial that Michelle combined to create this!  I sure hope she has it hanging somewhere prominent in her home, it truly is a work of art!

Michelle's next project shows her wonderful versatility, it's so soft, beautiful, and sweet:

She used the Floral and Color Add ons from our Weathered and Worn kit on this beautiful canvas that she made for a friend of hers, who I am quite sure is going to LOVE it!  The lovely pastel colors compliment the faded vintage photo and doily so nicely!

We're so happy Michelle is home, and inspiring us all with her beautiful work again!
