Design Team Results are in!

Before I let you in on the amazing artists who have joined our team, I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who took the time to submit applications.  We truly enjoyed seeing your beautiful work, and we wish we could invite everyone who applied to join the team!  We only have a few spots available each call, and we hope you will consider trying again during our next call.

And now, the big news, we are honored and excited to announce that these are the talented ladies who will be joining our team!

Debbie Sherman

I'm Debbie and I live in Wyoming with my husband Jeff and our 2 Labs Mojo and Pearl. I'm also a grandmother of 7, who inspire me everyday, they are the reason I started scrapping!
I have been involved with one craft of another all my life.  I started out beading jewelry when I was about 7 and sewing when I was 12. One day I discovered scrap booking and then it became an obsession/passion!  My husband thinks I'm a hoarder now but I say I'm just well supplied. My style varies and over the years has changed.  One day I can be in a Shabby Chic mood and the next day  I find myself elbow deep in paint and art journals.  I'm a visual person and when I see a product I love I create around it.  I draw inspiration from many places, flea markets, family, grandkids, old and vintage and color.
I'm an avid photographer and have been blessed with many professional photo opportunities. I spend time with my camera daily. More photos = more scrapping!!
I'm beyond honored to be designing for Scraps of Elegance  and with all the wonderfully talented designers you are about to get to know.

Patricia Basson

'Hello SOE friends...
Patricia Basson from Secunda in South Africa saying Hi to new and old friends! I am beyond happy to have been chosen to join the SOE Team and look forwards to working with Kits that I have been admiring for some times.
I have been scrapping for a few years now, since end 2006, but have only really started enjoying playing with papers and mediums these past 3 years, after meeting and following fellow scrappers on Face Book and other social networks...I have a few idols who inspire me tremendously and hope that in a small way, I might be an inspiration to some one else as well.
I don't really place myself in a certain style category, for I love different styles and techniques, it all depends on my mood of the day to decide how my page will turn out. I do however love to layer, distress and occasionally sew on my pages. Also love working with flowers and adding embellishments to my work. Lay outs, cards and tags are what I enjoy doing most and have tried my hand at some Off the Page items as well.
I do hope you are going to enjoy my work and I'm hoping to meet some new friends along the way...
Thank you once again to Melinda and the SOE Team for inviting me into their group...."

Bente Fagerberg

Hi my name is Bente Fegerberg, I am Norwegian and I live in a small Swedish village.
I love to scrap and craft and also to spend time outside in my large unruly country garden.
I think I have scrapped for about six years now but have become more serious about it the last couple of years since I have been invited to different design teams.
I spent quite a few years at University both in Norway and Sweden exploring the world of languages, economics, statistics and art. But my very best years I spent as a stay at home mom to my three daughters who are now almost all grown up. We lived in Chile, Mexico and England during these years and got to learn and love a lot about these different countries. Since my children have grown up I now co-own a small business selling fashion accessories to shops and boutiques mostly in Sweden. I love the freedom it allows me.
I am currently on the design team at Les Papiers de Pandore, Papirdesign, Inkido, Scrap for Help and a I am a PaperHaus Magazine contributor.
I am so delighted to be a new designer here at Scraps of Elegance!

To Be Announced

Shhhhh... it's a secret!  Our fourth new designer has a current design team commitment that we don't want to compromise.  In order to be fair to all parties, we are waiting to make an announcement until that commitment has ended.  So stay tuned, more info coming soon!

The newest members of our Design team family will begin designing with our January kit, and we cannot wait to see her gorgeous work!

Welcome to the team, ladies!

Exciting Design Team News!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that we have a new designer joining our team!

Kasia Bogatko-Skoczypiec

Hi! My name is Kasia and I'm from Poland. I am a scrapbooker since over 2 years. For me it is the best way to relax after a hard day and I love to scrap my friends and family photos. Media are my biggest love right now and I try to show their different faces in my artworks. My favorite forms are LO, canvas and art-journal. I am very happy that I can be a part of such an inspiring design team and work with these beautiful kits.

I am sure you've seen Kasia's beautiful work before, as she is on some other fabulous teams such as 13 Arts and Sketchabilities, but in the event you've somehow missed out, you can just stop by her blog:  http://scrapowanieciri.blogspot.com/

Kasia will begin designing for us with our December kit, and we can't wait to see what she does with it.  Welcome to the team, Kasia!

Sandi's debut kit reveal!!!

Lets get to know a little more about our newest Scraps Of Elegance Creative Team Member and a very good friend of mine
Sandi Smith!

My name is Sandi Smith and I live in Newfoundland, Canada with my wonderful husband and 2 great kids, Rick is 22 and Claudine is 14.I did my first layout in January 2010 and was immediately hooked! I am obsessed with all things associated with scrapping and I am always in “scrapbook mode “, constantly looking at things in our everyday lives for sources of inspiration.
I love to tear, wrinkle, sew and to get messy with gesso, mists and paint. I also love to refinish antique furniture and my latest love is painting girls on mixed media backgrounds.
I don`t feel I have a definite style. My creations can be vintage, shabby chic or loaded with paints ,sprays and gesso…depends on my mood and what inspires me at that time.I tend to gravitate towards creating 12 x 12 layouts but I also love stepping outside my comfort zone and trying something new!
I am so honored and excited to be part of this AMAZINGLY TALENTED team and look forward to sharing my SOE creations with you.

Of course we had to ask her a few Get To Know You questions!

making colorful backgrounds with gelatos and mists

Sandi rocked this kit!

Check out her first creation  based on this months sketch!

This is my big brother and me back in 1973...love this picture! I used papers from the Carta Bella At Last Collection, and did some punching and fussy cutting. I applied some molding paste to the gorgeous Prima Stencil included in the kit and then started adding color with the Lindy's stamp Gang Mist that were in the color add on. I also used watercolor paints and some stamps from my stash on my background. Here are a few closeups...

I tore some of the papers in strips, fussy cut some circles, and added some of the pretty lace to build up the layers behind my photo.

Also included in the kit and addons are loads of Prima flowers that I used to build my flower cluster. The Embellishment addon includes a package of Prima wooden embellishments. Just a little tip...to make them last even longer, I cut the wooden leaves in half  and tucked behind the flowers. You could also do that with the wooden flowers.

Renea's Boo-tiful Gothic Reveal!

WOW! Did Renea rock thsi spooktacular kit!

Her creations are chillin and thrillin!

Check out this first one!

I love how she used the creepy distress glitter from the kit around the distressed edges!

check out the gorgeous lace and she added some past kit flowers, and some flowers from the Floral Add On, as well as some of the flourishes from the kit. The Bewitching Halloween Banner is a die cut piece from the kit applied with foam tape for dimension.

The Candelabra is a wooden piece from the E.A.O. that she first misted, then painted with Micas, melted fusable webbing onto and then inked it for dimension and texture

This next project is a File Folder Tag Album. The base is actually cut down manilla file folders that I sewed together to form multiple pockets for tucking over sized tags into. This system works to create a unique "mini album" system, with 7 different double sided tags perfect for adding photos to and spots for journaling. You can also tuck more photos or memorabilia into the pockets themselves. Renea gives full credit of the base design to Cherry's Jubilee.

For the front of the folder a layer of paper from the Paper Add On that I distressed and inked. I then cut out one of the labels from a piece of the Authentique papers, distressed and heavily inked the outer surface.

 Check out these details!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
