And check out what Karen Zueger-Brownell did with this months sketch!

an amazingly beautiful layout of her friend and her family!

check out the details!
the inky circles, the layers, the fabulous branches all make this creations outstanding!

And then there is Renea's genuinely beautiful layout that just blew me away!

She used three different layers of the kit papers that I punched, accented with Puff Paints and stenciled with gel medium

she used a white Doilie to break up the black background, and stamped it with a script stamp and then puff embossed it.

She used the silk bias ribbon from the Embellishment Add On to form a banner, and added the buttons from the kit, flowers from the Flora & Fauna Add On, and some cheesecloth for softness. she added more cheesecloth and flowers to the top banner on the paper.

Check back tomorrow for more inspiration from the dt using this months sketch!

A few more inspirational pieces!

First up on the blog today is Marianne!

WOW!  check out all the background work!
Just amazing!
The photo is a tower of bells, placed in lake Mjøsa. Each hour the bells start playing different melodies. You can hear it from a long distance.

I love how she highlighted some of the words in her title!

and next to inspire you is Kim!

I love how she misted the  background, added gesso and really made the papers look more rustic!

And check out all the details and hidden gems!
I love how she put the title right on the photo - bringing even more emphasis to the picture!

adding the cardboard and gesso was the perfect touch!

Sarah's Fabulous mini!

Sarah created a marvellous vintage mini
using Tim Holtz Idea-ology Cabinet Cards (included in the Scraps of Darkness August Embellishment Add-on)

She used instant coffee (an a bit of mist) to dye her flowers and the lace - too cool!

She also did plenty of distressing of the Cabinet Cards by splashing them with brewed instant coffee and adding coffee rings. In keeping with the Vintage theme of the album, she printed all the photos for the album in sepia-tones.

Here are her praiseworthy inside pages

Renea's Scrumptious Recipe book and Timeless layout

Renea created such a delightfully scrumptious recipe book
with this months creativity add on!

she loved an apron card she had seen by Angela  Poole
and knew she wanted to use it on her recipe book!

look at all the layers and delectable distressing!

and she even did the back of the book!

She tabbed sections in her book for appetizers, main dishes and desserts

and her layout has a timeless beauty about it!
It is rustic and full of character!

she created lots of texture with gel medium and misting the background with a stencil, making paper rolls and then wrapping them with Lace, and adding frayed burlap pieces.

Here are some of the enticing details!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Nadia's exquisite layout

I have looked at this layout so many times because there are so
many radiant details!

The background work is sensational!

check out what she did with used Prima's Elementals collection 12x12 Halftone , together with thick Gesso and a mist, I turned it over and applied what was left on the stencil onto the paper. It gave it this colour wash effect

this is so striking!

look at these details!

Our September Guest Designer

If you are a member of our forum, you already know and love her, if you are not, here's a little introduction...

Our September Guest Designer is the fabulous Leanne Thompson, aka Violent Kittie!

Hello there!  My name is Lee and I sometimes work under the name “Violent Kittie.”  I am her and she is me.  I am not violent, nor am I a cat.  I really am a stay at home mom that tries to stay in my craft room as much as I can, except when I am forced to emerge for shopping, cooking or cleaning.  I am married to an army pilot and have traveled to many places with him and our two children.  I have been scrapbooking for 13 years, but have taken many long breaks from my beloved hobby due to deployments and moving around the country.
I have been a subscriber to Scraps Of Darkness kits for almost 2 years, since I stumbled on to them on Scrapbook.com.  I am so excited that they have asked me to be a guest designer.  I hope I can do these beautiful kits justice!

Here's a link to Lee's blog, be sure to check it out and follow, you will love her work!  Violent Kittie.

And I thought I'd share a few of the layouts Lee has done with our kits in the past, to hold you over until she shares her work with the September kit!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you are all having a fabulous, scrappy weekend!
