Beautiful delicate layout - August Sparkle and Shine Kit

Hello My Lovelies!!!
I hope that you are having a wonderful scrappy time.

Today I am sharing a layout using the Scraps of Darkness August Kit "Sparkle and Shine".  It is such a soft, fun kit.  Have had such a good time creating with it.  My talented niece Dani Ulstad took this amazing photo of her sister and my other niece, Bre.  Just look at those gorgeous eyes!!!

I wanted to create a soft, feminine layout to match the feel of the photo.  I started by cutting 2 large squares in green and gray, as the background for the photo.  I inserted some sweet lace between the layers.

I fussy cut the large flowers along the edges of the layout and lifted them up using some cardboard.  It gives so much dimension to a layout.  Before adhering these borders I layered some doilies to go under the photo and on the background.  There is a sweet crocheted one at the right far bottom.

After I got the photo and doilies in place I began to embellish the layout with chipboard, flowers and pearls.  Most of the flowers came in previous kits.

I left the title naked to flow with the layout.  Such a perfect sentiment.  I hope you liked my layout.  Till next time.....please check back for more incredible creations from our Design Teams.
Hugs!

Beautiful mixed media layout - Sparkle and Shine kit

It's me again with my last layout using the Scraps of Darkness August Kit "Sparkle and Shine".  I have so many lovely photos that were perfect for this gorgeous kit.  All of them featured my lovely niece, Bre, and were taken by her sister Dani Ulstad.

Di Garling, a former Design Tech member for Scraps of Elegance has long been an inspiration for me, so when I saw her layout "Follow Your Heart", I just had to scrap it.  Di graciously allowed me to use her beautiful sketch.

I used one of the Sparkle and Shine papers from the Main Kit for the background.  I gave it a light coat of gesso and used a stencil from Gabrielle Pollacco with 49th and Market.  I have been using the Art Alchemy Impasto Paint in White that came in a previous kit as my paste for my stencils.  I love its smoothness and quick drying qualities.  I also splattered a couple colors of ink around the layout to give it some interest.

At the top of the layout is a ripped piece of cardboard lightly coated in gesso with a piece of the gorgeous the beautiful lace that comes in the Elements Add On.  .  I cut it in half so that it would not overpower the layout.

I used the tan cardstock and Cheery Lynn doily die.  Such a beautiful die that I layered 2 under the photos.  Next I added the photos and a piece of  chipboard that came in a a previous kit.
I added a sentiment at the that comes in the die cut packet in the Main Kit.

I had such fun making the flower clusters using the 49th and Market flowers from the Floral Add On, plus a few from my stash.  I made several twine loopy bows and inserted them among the clusters.  I LOVE flairs, so a popped a couple in to add some more interest.  I also fussy cut some flowers from one of the Sparkle and Shine papers.

On the title I used a thick layer of Nuvo Crystal Drops from a previous kit.  It dried to a crackly finish, which looks pretty cool.

And the last touch is tons of microbeads and seed beads all around the layout.  Love how it turned out.

That's it for me today!
Hugs!

Amazing Autumn themed cards - September Falling Leaves kit

Hello, hello!

Sandi here with you today ...
What a lovely weekend we had here in Texas .. and now it's time to get back to business, right?

Today I'm sharing a fun card and tag set that I created using the September Scraps of Elegance Kit "Falling Leaves."  I'm always needing a card of some sort around here and having a co-ordinating tag for a gift is a real plus!

For the card I've primarily used along with flowers and embellishments from Prima's Amber Moon collection. Papers include Amber and Apricot Birdsong and Friendship as well as a small strip of Amber Moon's Pumpkin Season. The co-ordinating chipboard pieces are Blue Fern Studios and are found in the Elements add-on. I've tucked in lots of small bits of Prima's ephemera also from the Elements add-on. Flowers are all from the Floral add-on. Those wonderful Blue Fern Studios seedlings are from your amazing Main Kit!

Just a little close-up of the seedlings and other details.

Don't overlook the sweet leaf brad found in the Main Kit. Those add such a nice touch and are part of your Main Kit.

I might have to keep this tag for myself because it just makes me happy!
I went crazy on layers with Prima's Amber Moon ... Autumn Sunset (both sides), Pumpkin Love and Into the Woods. Punching the edges is so fun when you're doing tags and gives them such a great finished touch. Next I added layers of notecards and ephemera along with the Amber Moon flowers from the floral add-on.

Here's a little close-up view. I've included the ribbon from the Main Kit but I snipped it really narrow for my use here and just tucked it in.

Just a little dab of gesso and some tulle (stash) to complete the look.

Here is that wonderful Main Kit. Please visit the Store to see which Kits Melinda still has in stock. Also there are lots of basic scrapping supplies there as well.

See you soon!

Pretty in Pink - Sparkle and Shine kit

Hello My Friends!
Did I mention that I have a niece Dani Ulstad who has her own photography studio??  She has been busy taking some amazing pictures of the family, and this one is of her sister Bre.  When I saw this picture I knew it was perfect for the Scraps of Darkness "Sparkle and Shine" August kit.

I used 2 different Rose Quartz collection papers for the background.  Before I glued down the top half I layered several of the sheets of ephemera papers that come in the Elements Add On to go under the photo.  I also layered some die cut doilies  using the tan cardstock.  I added a brown mat to the photo and tried to create  a circle of twine around the photo.

I used a beautiful chipboard from my stash to swirl down the middle of the photo, and topped it with those amazing roses from Prima that come in the Main Kit.

As you can see I went wild with pearls and micro beads all around the clusters.  I love how they look!

At the bottom right I created a little cluster of flowers that I fussy cut from the Rose Quartz paper I used at the top.  I tucked in some flowers lace and one of my dear friends Renea Harrison of Renea Bouquets butterflies that she designed for a previous kit.

I loved tucking this gorgeous piece of lace that I have been hoarding for a long time!

I hope that you like my layout and that it gave you some ideas for your creations.  Be sure to check back for more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.   Hope you have a LOVELY week!

Hugs!
