Mixed Media Monday!

Good morning!

Happy Labor day I hope you are all enjoying your holiday Monday.

I am busting at the seams to show you all the gorgeousness today!

First up is Lisa with TWO amazing pieces of art!

She used an 8 x 10 inch canvas and applied Tim Holtz Tissue Tape around the edges and brought that into areas of the main canvas. She cut apart the Primrose and Proper paper and used some gel medium to adhere to the canvas, then coated it all in clear gesso.

Her background work is a combination of modeling paste with a stencil and misting.

She used several Prima resins on this canvas. The large frame was in a previous Scraps of Elegance kit "Lisas Love Letters" and the little bird house resin is in the current kit. She treated the larger frame with Inka Gold and the birdhouse with mists and Stampedous Embossing Powder Encrusted Jewels.

The dress form is a half 3D style that she likes to do.

She used Inka Gold on the dress form and some chipboard pieces. The florals are a combination of Kaisercraft blooms and the Prima Primrose and Proper were in our kit!

She layered doilies along with the Junkyard Findings Clock Faces found in our kits and embossed with both Stampendous "Spoonful of Snow" and the "Encrusted Jewels in Purple" from past kits.

and her next stunning project

Her background is a combination of Lumiere, Silks, Distress Paint, Distress Ink Sprays, Modeling Paste, Stamping and Rub Ons and a Prima Mask in the background as well. Most are from previous kits!

She used the butterflies in our kits by Renea as wings on my girl and added the butterfly antenna to her head!

And finally a beautiful layout created by Stephanie!

She chose to work with this light yellow background because she had this photo of Nickie  that had been retouched with an  editing software, and this color was perfect with this Prima  background (from  "Garden Fable"collection)
A lot of the embellishments she used were from previous kits and
she used chipboards from Blue Fern Studio, Prima flowers and clocks, and for the  background colors of different inks Lindy's Stamp Gang from this kit

Lovely Layers!

Good morning!

It's Friday!!!!  Do you have any scrappy plans this weekend?

Maybe some of these layouts showing off their lovely layers will inspire you!

First up is one of mine using the August Scraps Of Darkness kit
'Kathy's Nature Walk'

I love working with these colors!

I created a cluster of elements using flowers from the floral add on and some from previous kits, and a banner from the Bo Bunny Combo Stickers from the main kit

I die cut some leaves out of the Bo Bunny papers and the deep red flower is from my stash

in these photos you can see the dimension.....

Next up is a gorgeous layout from Kathy also using the August kit

Kathy started by spreading Gel Medium all over the page, then inked around the edges, and then stamped the circles.  She used some texture paste and a circles stencil to add texture to the background.
In the kit are these really cute pocket squares from Bo Bunny,  they came in 3 different sizes. She created a layered diagonal design.

She added the photos onto a mat from the collection, die cut some leaves and some flowers that were included in the kit, along with some from her stash.

Next I want to share a stunning layout from Patricia using the Scraps Of Elegance July Kit.

She did not add too much to the background because the paper is so beautiful!. She did some  layering under her photo and used the gorgeous Esperanza Querida flower spray from Prima that is part of the Floral Add-on.

I added a touch of lace to the banners that I cut from the Juliet Nostalgia sheet. The Rose looking embellishments are Prima Debutante Say it in Crystals from the Elements Add-on.

And finally I am going to share a layout from Lynne using the August
Scraps Of Elegance kit

She fussy cut and layered the frames!

She added some cheesecloth and flowers.

beautiful background work!

Mixed Media Tuesday!!!!!

Yes I know it is normally mixed media Monday BUT
yesterday we had that awesome tutorial on the blog from Amy!

so I am sharing a couple of amazing layouts today!

First up is Lisa Griffith with this simply stunning layout created using the
Scraps Of Elegance 'Mallika's Whimsy' kit

On this layout she wanted to pull the pinks and greens from this photo and use some Chipboard and have the flowers growing up the chipboard to look like a garden trellis!

here are a few of the gorgeous details

She created the background by stenciling with heavy gesso using the Prima Diamond mask and then used some Lindy's Stamp Gang mists to paint the background in green and pink.

the sweet little white birdhouse Prima resins came with the kit,
as well as the Prima gems and clock faces.
She took the green organza ribbon that also came in the kit, cut it up into thinner
pieces and wrapped it around the chipboard.

Next is a couple of beautiful layouts from Stephanie also using the Mallika's Whimsy Kit!

To make her layout, She worked mainly on different shades of light blue  / turquoise / lime / Emerald ...She added some touches of beige and soft pink to bring more sweetness to her page. She used the Merry Go Round Green mist, included in the color add-on.

Here are some details

and finally her second gorgeous layout...
