Make It In Minutes - Prima Vintage Pocket Journal

I can tell we are getting closer and closer to the Holiday season where Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas all come flying at me at the speed of light. Time is flying by and I feel like there are just not enough hours in the day to get everything done that I want to do. So, knowing how busy everybody is at this time of the year with the kids going back to school, all the fall yard work calling our names, and the Holiday season just around the corner, I have a sweet little pocket journal that I created with the Scraps Of Elegance September Kit~Simply Shabby Chic and the Embellishment Add On. I have all the steps mapped out so that you can literally put this little beauty together in about 20 minutes.

Step One:
Take the Prima Delight "Darling" paper from the kit and cut it into a 10 inch x 7 inch rectangle. Score at 5 inches, and fold in half.

Step Two:
Cut off the top front fold at a 45 degree angle, and distress all the edges. Glue the right hand side and bottom edges to form a pocket.

Step Three:
From the Prima "Delightful" paper in the kit, cut out the Post Card piece and the Vintage Image piece. Round the corners on the Post Card Piece, and then distress and ink the edges of the Photo piece.

Step Four:
Take the Prima "Scarlett" flower from the kit, and pull the layers apart.

Keep the lace layers to use.

Step Five:
Layer the large lace piece onto the card body.

Step Six:
Layer the Post Card Piece on top of the lace layer at an angle, and then layer the Photo piece on at the opposite angle.

Step Seven:
Create a small bow from the silk bias in the kit, add it to the top of the small lace piece and then add one of the Maya Road Trinkets from the Embellishment add on, onto the center of the bow. Attatch this piece to the left hand corner of the Photo piece.

Step Eight:
Add on one of the resin keys from the kit.

Step Nine:
Take 2 of the tags from the kit, and replace the twine with the left over silk bias ribbon.

Step 10:
Take the "Delightful" paper and cut out some of the journal cards. (I inked my edges for an aged look).

Step 11:
Tuck all your little journal cards and tags into your pocket.

And there you have it!! A wonderful gift, or piece for your home in just minutes!!

Hope you find the time to create one of these little pocket journals for yourself, and if you do, feel free to show it off in the gallery and in the Make It In Minutes Forum Thread :)

Hugs, ~Renea
