Kathy's stunning pink & yellow layout using the Blue Skies & Sunshine kit

Hello dear friends!
Kathy here and back with my first project using the fabulous April Kit from Scraps of Darkness
For my first project using this kit I decided to feature a picture of myself.  One of the few that I really like!!  It was taken in the hospital room with my son right after he had major back surgery, and I was so relieved and happy that it went well.
This month's kit has 2 different collections; Bo Bunny's "Petal Lane"; and, Kaisercraft's "Indigo Skies".  They are both lovely, light, and springy.  Gorgeous blues, pinks, and yellows.
There is a little story behind this layout that I would like to share...my Sis, Cyndi, was praying over me one night, and said that she had a vision of me riding a bicycle with a basket full of flowers on the handle bars.  I was wearing a flowing dress, and riding the bike around a beautiful lake, tossing flowers to everyone I passed.  She said that I was spreading joy to everyone I met.  Isn't that sweet?? So, when I saw that one of the Bo Bunny's papers had a bicycle with a basket full of flowers, (and pink, no less...my favorite color!!), I just had to use this paper as my background.

I started by spraying some Lindy's and Shimmerz Paints inks around where the photo would be placed.  I then used 2 stamps from previous Scraps of Darkness kits.  And, of course, added a few black paint splatters.

I used the note card images from one of the papers to form a base for my embellishments and photo. I also fussy cut the basket of flowers from one of the cards.  I added 2 of the pretty yellow doilies from the Main Kit, to bring some color to the layout. I fussy cut some of the black and white flower images from another Bo Bunny paper.  I know the flowers beg to be colored in, but I like the lacy, airy look without color.

Next I framed my photo with the Blue Fern Studio chipboard that comes in the Main Kit  I simply inked it with Ranger's Archival Ink Pad.  It really gives a smooth, permanent look.

I used various flowers from the Main Kit, Floral Add On, and my stash around the frame.

And last, I added some black gems to add some bling.  Oh, the happy sticker is also from a previous kit.  The title is the small phrase at the bottom by the bicycle.  It reads "Spread Joy".  It seemed appropriate coming my Sis' vision.

I really hoped you enjoyed our blog today and will stop by again soon.  Till next time here is a

Big Alaska Bear Hug!!!
Kathy
