Projects from our June Guest Designer

Well let me tell you, when Kim Arledge let me know she was back to scrapping, I was more than happy to offer her a spot guest designing for us!  And so it is that Kim is guest designing with our June Scraps of Darkness kit, Sindi's Summer Day...

In the event you weren't following us back then, I'll let you in on a little secret... Kim was on our Design Team a bit ago, and we are thrilled to see her work again!

Today I'm sharing the first two layouts she's done with the kit, and they are both fabulous, full of mixed media goodness!

Agnieszka's back!

She's back to guest design, but for SOD (we loved her work when she was designing for SOE, and we wanted to see her work her magic with a Darkness kit this time!).

My name is Agnieszka but in the scrapbooking world I go by Bellaidea.

I love traveling, taking photos, African bush aroma, Pavlova dessert, old books, doilies, trips with friends to Italy, evenings by the fireplace, and reading books. I enjoy audiobooks during long distance drives, visiting the blogs of my friends, and praising people for their talent and creativity.

I scrapbook for many reasons! These are to preserve memories, to make my kids remember I always care about them, to have MY time when I need it, and to keep in touch with all my scrap-friends all over the world. My style is eclectic, romantic, with a shabby influence and I am addicted to Mixed Media.

You will find the following on many of my projects: lace, chipboard, doilies, gesso, turned corners, fussy cutting, in addition to the results of using stencils, misting, etc. I never forget the most important element of the page which is the photo and a story. Sometimes I hide my journaling when it`s very personal.

Over the last couple of years I have had the pleasure to design for various blog challenges and companies. I publish my work on-line and have been published in magazines in Canada, USA, Germany, Australia, South Africa and UK. My favourite things to create are 12x12 layouts and canvas!

I teach classes at my LSS and every now and again I get invited to teach in various locations like ScrapFest Canada or South Africa.

Dreaming Bold - Mixed media beauty by Melenia

Today we are sharing something gorgeous by Melenia Agapides, who is guest designing with our SOE "Lisa's Love Letters" kit.

Melenia created this amazing layout with the main kit and Elements add on:

Melenia said, "this one is very dramatic, I used the black-red-grey-green combo, following the lead of my background paper. The page is about dreaming bold in life.  I have used stuff from the Main and the Embellishments kit, as well as some things from my stash (flowers mostly)."

Kit info, beautiful layouts, and a video!

Good morning, it's Wednesday, and the week is half over!

I'm just going to start today's post with a little info we are not thrilled about - this month's kit is not premiering today.  Due to the labor problems in the West Coast ports (meaning the intentional work slowdown), many of the products I had pre-ordered for the kit have not yet been received by the manufacturers, and so, obviously, not shipped to me yet.  As this kit was planned out, and I wanted to bring you some of the newest gorgeousness from CHA, I decided it was better to wait and give you the quality, well-planned kit you expect me to give you, and not something I hurriedly threw together at the last minute.
As soon as I receive notification that these items have shipped, I will post an update on the new kit reveal date.

Enough of the no fun stuff, and on to the good stuff!  Today we have 2 gorgeous layouts to share, from 2 amazingly talented guest designers, and one fabulous video tutorial!

The first project I'm going to share is by Melenia Agapides, who is guest designing with our SOE "Lisa's Love Letter's" kit.  Melenia used both the Main Kit, and the Elements Add On to created this mixed media beauty:

Melenia says, "The theme of the page is about finding the strength to go beyond our limits and amaze ourselves with our abilities, that we didn't know they existed.  It's like an opening door to ourselves."

Just look at all the dimension and texture she's created on this  layout!

I just love this layout, and all the amazing details, and I can't wait to see what Melenia comes up with next!

Next up, we have another stunner from Wilma Voermans, who is guest designing with our SOD "Karen's Valentine" kit.  Not only did Wilma create this gorgeous layout, she did a video tutorial to go with it!

Check out the detail shots, and be sure to watch Wilma's video, it's hard to see all the texture and details in a photo, but when you watch Wilma at work, you will see just how amazing this layout is!

Wilma's striking layout... WITH a video!

This month, Wilma Voermans is guest designing for us, as we had announced previously.

Wilma's first project is in, and it's a mixed media stunner!

Wilma's design is amazing, and I love the effect she got using Transfer Spray (she shows you how in the video she did, below)!

Melenia's gorgeous Audrey Hepburn layout

In case you missed it, we announced that we have a wonderfully talented lady guest designing for us this month... Melenia Agapides!

Melenia is guest designing with our February "Lisa's Love Letters" kit, and I took one look at her first project... it was love at first sight!  It's Class, Elegance, Mixed Media, and Beauty all wrapped up in one 12x12 package of perfection!

Just look at all the detail and glamour on this layout!  Melenia says it features one of her favorite style icons and actresses, Audrey Hepburn, and I think she has most definitely showcased Audrey's style and beauty perfectly!

Just look at all the texture and dimension she's created!

And so many gorgeous details!  Melenia used the Blue Fern Cotillion paper from the kit, and she's also used items from the main kit embellishments, and Elements add on.

I'd like to thank Melenia for showing off our kit so beautifully, and I can't wait to see her next projects with it - stay tuned for those!

Frau Muller's amazing Northern Lights kit layouts

Happy Monday!  I hope it finds you all full of energy and ready for the coming week!  Me, not so much, I am wishing it was still the weekend!

So today I've got some wonderful eye candy for you.  As we posted before, Frau Muller is guest designing for us with our December Northern Lights kit, and she's done two amazing layouts, full of mixed media goodness!

Not 1, not 2, but 3 - yes, we have three amazing guest designers to announce today!

"My name is Melenia Agapides!  I live in an island of Greece and am mother of 2 kids, as well as an Airport Authority Officer at our local airport.  I started scrapbooking in 2009, but I got more involved in 2011. I'm a layout designer and I love working with masks, inks, pastes, mists.  I think my style is still evolving, so I can't put a name on it, but my pages contain clusters with different kind of embellies, which I "glue together" with paints, mists and inks. y works have been featured in several blogs. have won challenges (the Supreme Scrap Tournament among them) and have been published in magazines.
I'm very honoured to be a guest Designer at the Scraps of Elegance Kit Club and I thank Melinda & Lisa for trusting me with the wonderful February kit!"

My name is Nataliya, however in the scrap world I use my nickname Frau_Muller.
I am 29 years old and live with my family in the Ukraine. I'm the head of trade in a marketing department and the happy mother of little "superman"
 I've been scrapbooking for 3 years and try to make different projects every day! During this time I've fallen in love with different styles and materials & I'm absolutely passionate with both Mixed-Media and Vintage styles.
For me, scrapbooking is art therapy & often inspiration comes from either my little son and/or music.

Hello, my name is Wilma Voermans, born in Amsterdam, but I live in the Swiss alps for many years now. I love scrapbooking, but I dont make very bulky layouts anymore, because of the storageproblem. Mixed media is a must on my pages. My new addiction is Project Life, I can be creative with a goal this way. Mixed media cards, scrapbooklayouts and art journalpages, it all dissapears in my Project life albums.

A beautiful card and altered frame by Drycha!

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are all warm and cozy!

Today I am sharing a couple more creations by our guest designer Drycha using

the Scraps of Darkness 'Bon Appetit' kit!

I LOVE the color - so rich and elegant!

The gold splatters really add to the beauty of this card!

She also created a fabulous mixed media piece!

2 beautifully different looks from one kit: Projects by Drycha!

As we previously announced, we invited Drycha back to guest design with our October kit (I just couldn't imagine the Halloween kit without Drycha!), and were so happy she said yes!

Drycha's first two projects with the "Bon Appetit" kit are both amazing, and so strikingly different - she really shows off the versatility of our kits with these layouts!

We had a bit of a zombie theme going with this kit (I couldn't resist including Moxxie's Zombie Apocalypse collection when I was putting the kit together!), and Drycha had the perfect photo for it - it's a photo of her, last Halloween.  You know I love a good horror layout, and I can't tell you how much I love this one - you just can't have a zombie layout without the "blood" (Dylusions Postbox Red mist from the kit)!

And from a wonderfully fun, bloody zombie layout, to Drycha's next layout (yes, both were done with the same kit!).  Drycha's layout of Virginia Woolf is beautiful, elegant, and so striking!

I just love both of these, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Drycha comes up with next!

Drycha's back!

That's right, Drycha's come home - just for this month, but hey, it's going to be fun!  I just couldn't do the Halloween kit this year and not ask her to guest design, and lucky us, she said yes! And what better day to announce than ON Halloween!!!

I'm Karolina Stopyra aka Drycha and I live in Warsaw, the capitol of Poland. I’ve always created – drawing, painting, taking photos, etc. In spring 2008 I found scrapbooking and started to create albums and cards. With time I jumped more and more into mixedmedia and I just LOVE it!. I love to learn new techniques, experiment with new medias and bring all together. I love to draw, and create a lot of things such as layouts, cards, altered art, jewelry, art dolls and other things.
I’ve been featured in scrapbook and crafting magazines, I'm owner and designer of polish craft brand 3rd Eye, by now we have rubber unmounted stamps, chipboards, shadowboxes, mounting blocks, stickers and adhesive flair buttons in our offer. All designs are created by me in 100%.
Lately I'm enjoying drawing and making tutorials.

We can't wait to see what she does with this month's SOD "Bon Appétit!" kit!  We'll be sharing her work with it throughout the month, so stay tuned here and on our Facebook page so you don't miss a thing!
