Renea will rock you.....

Renea totally rocked this layout!

She used different distressed layers of paper for the background and inked the edges with the Rusty Bucket Ink from the kit.  Then hand cut out a gear shape from some of the Authentique paper, and then added in two more layers of the distressed and inked G45 papers, as well as one of the G45 Tags, a Authentique "Date" Sticker and another G45 journaling piece with the sentiment "Hello Gorgeous"

She fussy cut out a long piece from some of the G45 paper

created a flower layer using tulle, flowers from the kit and the floral add on along with some stash gears and peacock feather

She cut some more fussy cut pieces, added them to the lace along with some of the Darice Rhinestone Trim.

A gorgeous clustering!

look at the dimension!

Renea's February reveal!

Renea is always creative and her projects are always spectacular!

This month is no exception!

Check out her interpretation of Charlotte's sketch!

She layered up 2 layers of paper, fussy cutting the edges of the top piece, then water distressing it and tearing the corner.

She hand stitched the corner piece then added a stash, Prima resin piece, a sticker from the kit, some sweet roses from my stash and from this month's floral add on, and some tulle.

She laced it with some hand dyed seam binding, created a large bow and added on one of the Flair Buttons from this month's embellishment add on.

The Prima resin Cherub was from the Embellishment add on, and repeated the resin, tulle and flower layering at the bottom.

It is amazing!!!!!!

Getting to Know Angelica!

Hi everyone!

today I am sharing a few more projects from Angelica and getting to know her better!

What is your favorite book?

Any book by Swedish author Marianne Fredriksson. Her books describes strong women, often with medial abilities, and their great influence on religion and spirituality in ancient times, for instance Maria Magdalena. It´s fiction of course, but often based on facts and history.

Are you a morning or night person?

Since I am a farmer  I have to get up early, and try to get into bed in time. I usually create/scraps in the early mornings, I love the silence and tranquility in the dawn of the day.

Which do you prefer, sweet or salty foods?

Both, like the Asian cuisine, which has sweet and sour flavors, but also salty food.

If you could be any animal, what would you be?

would be a cat, for sure! Living a simple relaxed and carefree life, just enjoying myself.Getting all my fave meals served and spend my days playing, cuddling and resting. I love cats because cats never let themselves be controlled or trained, but train their servants(us) to humbly obey their slightest wish. Everything is done on the cat's terms... just purrfect;)

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I would love to be able to travel in time. I don´t  know if that counts as a super power?I love history, and has always been interested in how people lived before.Where I live there are archaeological remains since the Viking Age , and it would be cool to see what it looked like here then!

Now lets look at these beautiful layouts!

I  love the colors, the butterflies and the way she used the fur!

The design of this layout is amazing!...I am blown away by the details!

This layout left me speechless!

Imagine Crafts Vertigo Tutorial by Karen!

We have a cool product in this months kit - Vertigo by Imagine Crafts, and Karen's done a sweet little tutorial showing you how she made this gorgeous tag with it:

http://www.scrapsofdarkness.com/TutKarenVertigo.html

Today I'm sharing a little tutorial using the amazing medium "Vertigo" from Imagine Crafts, which is included in the January Style & Sophistication Main Kit.

To begin with I cut the 6 x 6 sheet of "Taffeta" into a tag.  I think ran the tag through my Vagabond die cut machine using a Tim Holtz texture fade.  The material is almost a foil-type material so it works really great with die cuts.

I then ran it through with a texture fade from Tim Holtz.  After that, I painted the Vertigo with some Jacquard Lumiere Paint "Halo Blue Gold" from the January Creativity Add On.  After that dried, I applied some Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Mist (Jack In The Pulpit Teal), from the January Color Add-On kit.

For the next step I decided to die cut some Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers and try a few different shades.
For the two on the upper left I used the texture fade again and then painted and sprayed as I did with the tag.
For the flowers on the bottom left I just sprayed with the Jack In The Pulpit Teal mist and a bit of  Lindy's "Red Hot Poker Orange" mist, also from the January Color Add On.
The three flowers on the right were sprayed just with the Lindy's "Jack In The Pulpit Teal.

I then layered them on the tag.

This is some amazing and fun material to work with and I think is best altered with inks and mists.

Hope you enjoy and are inspired to create something beautiful with it!!
