Two gorgeous layouts with our July kit - The Wayfarer

Hi fellow scrappers!
Sharon here sharing the first layout that I made with the

beautiful July Scraps of Darkness "The Wayfarer" kit:

The main kit contains gorgeous papers from the Blue Fern Studios' Wanderlust Collection:

And includes these awesome elements:

  • Blue Fern Studios Wanderlust 12x12 Printed Chipboard (19 pieces)
  • Blue Fern Studios Laser Cut Chipboard Word: Memories
  • Prima Traveler's Journal Ephemera and Stickers (104 pieces)
  • 49 and Market Vintage Shades Flowers: Yellow Bouquet
  • One 6x6" burlap paper sheet
  • 2 metal bird charms
  • 5 mini clothespins
I used blue and yellow cardstock included in the cardstock add-on that compliments the main kit papers beautifully:

Without further ado, here is my layout:

I featured a favorite photo that I took back in 2013 at Arrowhead Lake and a lyric from the song "Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver.

Just to show you that making a scrapbook page doesn't have to be a daunting project, I made this simple layout in just one day!

I enjoyed using many of the awesome elements contained in the the creativity add-on:

What a great time I had making my fist layout with the July Scraps of Darkness kit.

Today I would also like to share the second layout that I made with the July Scraps of Darkness "Wayfarer" kit.
As I said earlier, this kit contains VERY gorgeous papers from Blue Fern Studios' Wanderlust Collection.

These papers definitely remind me of years gone by!!!  I felt very nostalgic and couldn't wait to scrap a favorite old photo.

Here is the 12 X 12 layout I came up with:

I featured a treasured photo that was taken back in 1963 of my dad, mom, my twin sister, and me at the NJ shore.   I added hidden journaling on the back of my page about how my dad and mom didn't have much money back then, but they worked hard to take us on at least one day trip every summer to the shore.  I have many fond memories from those days!!!

I enjoyed using the frame and stamp set from the elements add-on and the transfers, stencil, and spritz from the creativity add-on.

Again, scrapbooking doesn't have to be difficult or overwhelming.  With just a few elements at your fingertips, you can create a layout in just one day!!!

Here are some close ups of my page:

And a different view:

I highly suggest that you head on over to the Scraps of Darkness store to learn more about them and how to sign up for their amazing kit club memberships.
Happy Scrapping!

Two Beach Layouts - June Seaside Kit

Good morning!
Laura here today to share another layout I created using the Scraps Of Darkness  'Sea Side' kit

For this layout I decided to use the awesome Kaisercraft High Tide Collection from the main kit and also from the Coordinating paper add on.  I love to layer my papers and embellishments and the fabulous Kaisercraft papers were perfect for this.

I cut out one of the card titles which I think reflects our boys. I also fussy cut a couple of images - the ships wheel and anchor to use as accents.  I added a few stickers from the coordinating stickers sheet in the main kit

The blue fern chipboard I inked with
Prima Color Philosophy Summer Vibes Stackable Ink Pad from the color add on then added some blue crushed glitter glass from a previous kit.  You can also see the tiny starfish from the main kit (its so cute) and a few glass gems also from the main kit

Those wonderful flowers are from the floral add on!

Now I am excited to share my final layout using the awesome Seaside Kit from Scraps Of Darkness!

I am so infatuated with the Sand & Sea Collection that was in the Seaside kit!  The papers are stunning and I really adore those 3d embellishments!

This photo is one of my favorites!!!!  I really wanted it to be the focal point of this layout so I designed it so all the elements worked to make the photo the centerpiece.

I started by using a layer of clear gesso on the papers to protect fro the mixed media work.  I then used a Crafters Workshop stencil from my stash with some texture paste.  I added some embossing powder from a previous kit, then misted with various mists from previous kits also.
The Blue Fern chipboard from a previous kit I painted with the Unicorns hair paint from the color add on.

The title is actually the packaging from the 49 & Market 3D embellishment package.  I just cut it out because it matched so well!

I also created a clustering on the top using flowers from this kit, floral add on and previous kits and the 3D embellishments as well as Prima Resin pieces from the elements add on.

I wanted to keep this awesome photo the focal point so I created a cluster of elements that really makes your eye be drawn to the photo...I used lots of flowers from this kit, floral add on and previous kits, the Blue Fern chipboard anchor from the elements add on (that I also painted with the Unicorns Hair paint from the color add on), resin pieces from the elements add on, cheese cloth, and the 49 & Market 3D embellishments!

Thanks for stopping by!

Too Amazing Mixed Media Layouts - June Birds of a Feather Kit

Hello everyone !

I am presenting today my 1st layout with June's Scraps of Elegance Birds on a Feather kit :)
Here it is !
I was stunned by the beautiful Yellow paper and the Roses paper too, so I decided to use them together :) I used a stencil from my stash on the background and decorated with lots of Ephemeras and Chipboards from the kit.  I added a few Butterflies and gorgeous Flowers too :)

Here is my second layout made with gorgeous June kit at Scraps of Elegance :  Birds of a Feather kit
I decided to make an all Pink layout with this beautiful paper from BoBunny : Serendipity Love

I started with Clear Gesso on the whole background to protect the page for the Mediums I was going go to use.  Then I used a stencil from my stash with Heavy Gesso.  I put some Gray and Pink aquarelles on top of the Gesso.  To finish I added lots of Ephemeras, Chipboards, flowers and Butterflies from the kit :)

Thanks you for coming by

2 stunning scrapbook layouts - June Birds of a Feather Kit

Hi, it's Tracy Funk here today with my first ever project for Scraps of Elegance using the June kit, Birds of a Feather.  I used the Main Kit as well as the Floral and Elements add-ons.  The main kit features paper from BoBunny's Serendipity collection.  I think it goes perfectly with this old photo of my husband's grandmother and two of her younger siblings.

I used the back of the Serendipity Treetops paper from the main kit as the background, distressed the edges and glued it onto the striped Life paper.  On the background I did some stenciling with molding paste and misted and splattered with a pink spray.  I then used grey ink with the 49 and Market stamp, "Script Squared", from the kit on the background.

I used the Serendipity Branches paper from the kit for the die-cut frame, layering it over a dark brown copy and offsetting it slightly to accentuate the edges.

The larger flowers are from the Floral Add-on, the chipboard nest from the Elements Add-on and the mini butterflies, die-cut flowers and bird houses from the Main Kit.  The daisies and the lace were from my stash.

Main Kit

Elements Add-on

Floral Add-on

I started with the beautiful "Flight" paper from BoBunny's Serendipity collection (included in the main kit).  I cut a piece of fishing net from my stash, glued it to the paper and added the die-cuts and photo to the background.  The doily die-cuts were cut from cream cardstock and the brown leaves from kraft paper in my stash.  The rectangular die-cuts were made from the Serendipity "Love" paper while the green leaves were made from BoBunnny's "Delightful" paper from their Aryia's Garden collection (also included in the kit).  I layered the large die-cuts over a dark version, offsetting them slightly to accentuate the edges and traced around the green leaves and along the veins to make them stand out more.

The chipboard border under the photo was from my stash.  I coated it with heavy gesso and then rubbed it with Distress Ink, Mermaid Lagoon which is included in the kit.

I then applied the other embellishments, all from the kit and add-ons.  I particularly liked the little glass bottles that I filled with sand, Prills and some small pebbles.

I finished by adding random blobs of sand-gold structure paste from my stash around the layout and pressed in some iridescent blue bubbles by Queen & Co. from the kit.

Thank you so much for taking a look!
