Mixed Media Monday!

Good morning!
Welcome to another mixed media Monday!

Today I delighted to share three beautiful layouts from three beautifully talented ladies!

First I will share this amazing layout by Wilma
using the November kit 'Amy's Amazing Autumn'

She started the layout, using one of the papers from the Scraps of darkness November kit, then added circles and other shapes she cut.  She added paint splatters, stamping, fussy cut images and chipboard.
Here are her close ups....

Next is this stunning layout from Anna using the November
Scraps Of Elegance kit 'Tracey's Country Kitchen'

From the kit & add ons she used the Bo Bunny Provence paper, the Bo Bunny brads and Journaling CardsBoBunny Filagree Copper Foil Transfers Rub On, Lindy's Stamp Gang Embossing Powder 'Midnight Gold Obsidian', Petaloo flowers and Reneabouquets Handcrafted Butterfly.

and finally this incredible layout from Stephanie
also using the November Scraps Of Elegance kit

She used  a brown sheet of the BoBunny collection for her background and then added more vibrant colors. These vibrant colors contrast with the use of different designs in the collection.  She used a card in medium-size  from the Misc Me Journaling Cards with a pattern seamstress coils as the main element of her page. She cut the card to fit in the plaster frame from her stash. Then she worked mainly around the picture and frame with a collage of paper, masking tape, tissue tape of different colors. I added some of the Prima floral lace in whole pieces, and others cut 'wildly' to give texture to her work!
She used color to give cheerfulness to her page.
And in the midst of these contrasting colors she used this gorgeous Inka Gold-Copper color.
The title 'FRENCH COUNTRY from a Misc Me Journaling Card on which appeared the text.

December Mood Board Challenge

Come play along with our December Inspiration Board Challenge!

We've put together what we think is a wonderful group of images to inspire you this month, and we hope you'll join in on this month's challenge.

Here are the rules (there aren't many, we promise):

1. The challenge ends Dec. 31 at midnight.

2. Create a layout, canvas, art journal page, or altered item, taking inspiration from this month's Inspiration Board: You can choose inspiration from just one of the images, or several of them. This inspiration can be the quote, the colors, the overall feel of the board, something in one of the pictures on the board - your imagination is the only restriction you have on this!

3. Upload your project into the challenge album in our Facebook Community Group, and tell us in the description what you used from the board as your inspiration.

4. For a double entry - post your project on your blog along with the photo of the board and a link to the challenge, and then add the link of your blog post to the description of your photo when you upload in our challenge album.

5. That's it!

A winner will be chosen on or about January 4th, and will receive an exclusive coupon code for $20.00 in our store (may be used towards anything you like in the store). **Please note the credit is for use in our store, and cannot be applied to existing kit subscriptions.

If you've never tried a mood board challenge, we have a wonderful post that gives you some guidance and tips - you can see it here

Hope to see your entry soon!

DIY Rustic Mixed Media Card Tutorial

Good morning.  We've got something fun to enjoy with your morning coffee today...

Tracey Sabella's done a wonderful new video tutorial, showing you how to make these beautiful rustic country chic birthday cards:

Tracey used our November "Tracey's Country Kitchen" kit to create them, along with the following kit add ons:  Color, Creativity, Elements, and Floral. I just love what she did with the Iced Enamels Relique Powder and Mica and the Jacquard Lumiere paint, they really give these cards beautiful color and sparkle...

Here's Tracey's video, and below it, I'll share some close ups of these gorgeous cards.

Shabby Chic with Renea and Tracey

Good morning!
Today I am bringing you a couple of gorgeous shabby chic projects from Renea and Tracey.

First up is Renea with this amazing layout
using the Scraps Of Elegance November kit

She started with a base layer of kit paper, then took a second layer and did some distressing and tearing, then inked the edges heavily. Then took some of the same ink and shaded in the area around the photo and the upper corner. Next, she did some stenciling with a past kit stencil and texture paste, misted some Corrugated Board, added some distressed and inked kit paper and then her photo. She tucked in a Prima Metal Clock Face from her stash, and one of the Prima Metals from the Embellishment Add On that she went over with some gesso.

She added the large Burlap flower from the kit and some past kit flowers and twine and more to form a flower layer at the bottom of the photo corner,
and the Sweet Chipboard piece is a Blue Fern piece from a past kit that she painted with gesso and then inked.

she also tucked in lace under her torn layers!

Next  we have this beautiful layout from
Tracey Gregory using the Scraps Of Darkness November kit
